Previously Bruce Passmore was the Executive Director for the Canadian Parks and Wildlife Society, British Columbia (CPAWS-BC),  the province's leading land and ocean conservation organization.  Prior to CPAWS-BC, Bruce was the Executive Director for Leave Out Violence Society (LOVE) Vancouver, which supports youth affected by violence. Bruce sits on the Telus Vancouver Community Board and is an advisor for the Vancouver Foundation's Systems Change grants. Bruce has been a frequent election observer for the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), CANADEM, and regional NGOs, roles which have taken him to Ukraine and various countries in East Africa. Bruce holds a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Guelph and an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from Royal Roads University.
